Griot’s Sagas carries the fire of the first storytellers, passing Ancestral wisdom into the hands of the rising generations. Youth will learn the full craft of story creation - developing characters, building settings, shaping obstacles, and crafting meaningful endings rooted in The Hero’s Storytelling Journey - all while also exploring social studies themes such as community, justice, culture, identity, and collective responsibility through their story creations . This offering strengthens essential literacy skills, supporting youth in expressing their ideas with clarity, structure, creativity, and confidence in their voice and storytelling power.
Audio Arts
Where young griots craft songs of healing and harmony, recording their voices as heroes of our time.
Calling all musicians! Little Hill Heroes Audio Arts is a stellar music enrichment offering where youth are invited to step into their power as modern-day griots! During the upcoming Winter Break program, youth will explore the history of songs as medicine, practice mindfulness as part of their creative process, and learn to weave stories of peace, nature, and resilience into original compositions. With support from a Grammy Award winning engineer at Revival Studios in El Cerrito (Little Hill), CA, each young hero's final tracks will be featured on radio/podcast platforms with the opportunity to perform live in front of thousands in January at the 2026 MLK Day March! Through music and story, our youth rise as guardians of the earth, voices for peace, and creators of harmony in community.
